Ka$hdami was first introduced to music by his father who used to own a studio and also work in the music industry. His father passed away in 2011 after which Ka$hdami and his family moved from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Prince George’s County, Maryland.
By 2012, he had started making music and sharing it online through ooVoo, a now-defunct video chat and messaging app. When he was about 13 years old, he bought a microphone and started recording music on his mother’s computer.
In 2018, Ka$hdami released songs titled Kappin Up and Findin’ Out. However, he became demotivated when they did not succeed and decided to take a break from his nascent music career.
He eventually came into the spotlight in 2020 after Kappin Up gained popularity on TikTok (a globally popular short-form video hosting service). The track blew up further after its associated music video was hosted on WorldStarHipHop, a widely followed content-aggregating video blog.
His star shone further in 2021 with the release of songs titled Reparations!, Look N The Mirror!, and 14. The popularity of these songs led to a tremendous increase in the following of Ka$hdami’s TikTok and SoundCloud (one of the largest music streaming services in the world) accounts.
Consequently and subsequently, in May 2021, he was signed up by Republic Records, an American record label owned by the renowned Universal Music Group, a Dutch-American multinational music corporation.
